In an attempt to assert adulthood, Natsuo kisses Hina. Instead of reacting as a typical romantic interest, Hina retaliates. She hits him, then forcefully kisses him back, pushing him onto her bed to demonstrate the power difference between them. Who do you think Natsuo truly loves

This is where the writing shines. Sasuga uses Alex to ask a hard question: If Natsuo hates seeing Rui with another man, does he actually love Rui? Or does he just not want to lose a possession?

Natsuo’s horrified refusal reveals his own moral compass. He still believes in a linear progression from feeling to relationship to physical intimacy. Rui’s proposal inverts that order: the physical as a pressure valve, not a foundation. Their conflict is not about sex; it is about the meaning of intimacy itself.
