Tr-8000: Jotron

While the TR-8000 is primarily a voice unit, it is designed to work within a DSC environment. It often features a dedicated Channel 70 watch receiver (or is integrated with a DSC controller in larger system setups). This allows the radio to be part of the automated distress alerting system, sending digital signals that contain the vessel's identity (MMSI) and position to other ships and shore stations instantly.

The (and its updated version, the TR-8000 MkII ) is a Class A Automatic Identification System (AIS) transponder designed for maritime vessels to meet international safety and reporting standards. It serves as a critical tool for collision avoidance by broadcasting and receiving real-time vessel data. Core System Architecture jotron tr-8000
