Before CIECA, if a body shop wanted to send a supplement request to Geico, and another supplement request to State Farm, they often had to log into two different proprietary portals, manually type the same data twice, or rely on clunky FTP file transfers. CIECA created a common XML and JSON schema so that any compliant system—whether it is CCC, Mitchell, Audatex, or a shop’s own management system—can speak the same language.
