The story centers on (Preity Zinta), a vivacious and rebellious girl who has grown up in the shadow of her older sister, Nimmi (Mahima Chaudhry). While Nimmi is the favorite of their mother, Saritaji (Rekha), Shalu is constantly treated with coldness and resentment.
