Now that you know how to perform an ECID check on your iPhone, you’re ready to take full control of your device’s firmware destiny. Save those blobs, keep your ECID handy, and enjoy the flexibility that advanced iOS users have relied on for over a decade.

If you want to downgrade from iOS 18 to iOS 17 (hypothetically) to keep a jailbreak, you must have saved the SHSH blobs while Apple was still signing iOS 17. Tools like , tsschecker , or online blob-saving services like TSS Saver all require your ECID to generate these blobs. Without the ECID, the server cannot generate the unique ticket for your device.

If your iPhone is stuck or doesn't boot to the Home Screen, you can still find the ECID.

The most reliable way to read the ECID is by using software designed to communicate with the iPhone's bootrom.
