At the heart of Death's Game is Choi Yi-jae (played by Seo In-guk), a man whose life has been a series of relentless failures. Despite his best efforts, he finds himself unemployed, broke, and utterly hopeless. In a moment of profound despair, he decides to end his own life.
The central thesis of the show is that life is not about the circumstances we are given, but what we do with them. Yi-jae, who thought his life was worthless, slowly begins to see the beauty of existence through the eyes of others. He realizes that even in a body with wealth and status, life can be empty; conversely, in a body filled with struggle, life can be rich with love. The show argues that the mere act of breathing is a privilege that should not be discarded lightly. Death-s Game -2023-2023

Death is furious—not because Yi-jae died, but because he disrespected the gift of life. As punishment, Death condemns Yi-jae to live through 13 different lives. He will be reincarnated into the bodies of people who are about to die violently. If he can survive the predetermined death of that body, he gets to live out the rest of that person’s natural life. If he dies again? Eternal damnation. At the heart of Death's Game is Choi
