For the uninitiated, Kannappa (originally known as "Thinnadu") is a legendary Shaivite story from the Sthala Purana of Srikalahasti Temple in Andhra Pradesh. Unlike the saintly poets we are used to, Kannappa was a fierce, illiterate hunter.
