A scatter file (formally known as the "MT6769_Android_scatter.txt") is a partition layout table for the eMMC/UFS storage chip on a MediaTek MT6769 device. Unlike Qualcomm devices that use MBN or XML partition files, MediaTek relies on this human-readable text file to tell the flashing tool where each partition (boot, system, userdata, etc.) begins, its size, and its physical storage address.
