If you only download one pack, look for "The FPC Essentials Kit." It usually contains 16 pads of studio-quality drums that are already leveled. Drop a MIDI pattern, switch presets, and suddenly your beat sounds finished.
Start with free. Master FPC's interface. Once you are frustrated by the inconsistency of free packs, buy a $15 expansion from a reputable brand like Image-Line's official store or Freshly Kicked Samples.
