The earliest recorded evidence of mosaic art dates back to around 4000 BCE, in the ancient city of Mohenjo-Daro, in present-day Pakistan. The Indus Valley Civilization used small, colorful tiles to create intricate designs and patterns on floors, walls, and other surfaces. Similarly, in ancient Greece and Rome, mosaics were used to adorn temples, public buildings, and private homes with beautiful, durable artworks.
