: Unlike the first game, Jubei can transform into a powerful, invincible Onimusha by collecting five purple souls, allowing for devastating magical barrages.

The first game starred Takeshi Kaneshiro (the famed actor/model) as Samanosuke. For the sequel, Capcom went bigger. Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny stars , a fictionalized version of the legendary swordsman Yagyū Jūbei Mitsuyoshi. The motion capture and voice talent were provided by the equally iconic Yusaku Matsuda (via archival footage, as Matsuda passed away years before the game's release, adding a layer of haunting gravitas).
