Director Tamás Rényi uses the "Echo" cave as a stunning visual metaphor. The interior of the cave, filmed in the Aggtelek Karst region, looks like the inside of a computer motherboard—jagged, organic, yet menacingly logical. The teenagers wear clothes that look standard for 1973 (flared jeans, knitted sweaters), but the future tech they interact with is made from scrap metal and oscilloscopes, giving it a "junkyard chic" aesthetic beloved by steampunk fans.
