In the original game and the remake, money is tight. Upgrading a single Wanzer with better arms, legs, a body, and a backpack can cost tens of thousands of credits. If you want to experiment with different builds—perhaps a heavy-hitting melee build for one character and a long-range missile boat for another—you often have to replay side missions (simulations) repeatedly to afford the parts. A trainer allows you to generate infinite credits instantly, letting you buy every part available in the shop to test different strategies.
