The Bourne Legacy 1080 [better] -
When the credits rolled on 2007’s The Bourne Ultimatum , audiences believed the story was complete. Matt Damon’s Jason Bourne had finally exposed the shadowy Treadstone and Blackbriar programs, collapsing the corrupt infrastructure of the CIA’s assassin apparatus. It was a perfect trilogy. Yet, in 2012, Universal Pictures made a bold decision: to extend the franchise without its titular star.
Stepping into a franchise defined by Matt Damon was a herculean task. Jeremy Renner, however, did not attempt to mimic Jason Bourne. Instead, he introduced Aaron Cross, an operative of Operation Outcome. Unlike Treadstone agents who were behaviorally modified, Outcome agents were chemically enhanced.
For collectors, a 1080p x265 encode of The Bourne Legacy sits perfectly around 8 to 15 GB. It retains DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 or 7.1 (essential for the soaring, underrated score by James Newton Howard) without consuming 60 GB like a 4K remux.
