The LPT port does not care if Windows decides to defragment the hard drive. As long as the CPU has enough cycles to fill the register, the signal remains true. This predictability is why many legacy industrial machines refuse to die.

Mach3 LPT is a classic, proven, and incredibly cheap entry point into CNC. It is not "pro" or "modern," but for a first machine, or a dedicated second-op bench mill, it remains surprisingly usable. Treat it as legacy—but glorious legacy. mach3 lpt
