Yasin is the first two letters (muqatta'at) of Surah 36. While the exact divine meaning is known only to Allah, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: "Indeed, everything has a heart, and the heart of the Quran is Yasin." (Sunan al-Darimi). Reciting it is believed to bring forgiveness of sins and ease the pangs of death.
