Use an original replacement element to avoid machine damage, and pay close attention to the polarity of the sensor leads during installation. Troubleshooting "No Heat":
Disconnect the ground line and remove the old element from its holder.
For advanced users, the Gordak 952 is a perfect candidate for a DIY PID upgrade. Replace the analog potentiometer with an Arduino Nano and a MAX6675 thermocouple amplifier. The service manual schematics show exactly where to tap the TRIAC gate.
