The story centers on (Alka Kubal), whose life is defined by hardship from birth. Her father, Yeshwant (Vikram Gokhale), blames her for her mother's death during childbirth and considers her a "bad omen". Despite winning a lottery the day she was born, Yeshwant refuses to acknowledge her, and she is raised by a maid.
