Click the download button. The file will typically be a (e.g., B550F-GAMING-ASUS-2004.zip ) or a CAP file. Avoid "Auto-detection" exe files if possible; manual download is safer.

Read the "Description" or "Release Notes" for each version. Sometimes you cannot jump from version 1.0 to 2.0 directly. The notes may say: "Must update to version 1.5 before installing version 2.0." download bios update

Updating the BIOS is not without peril. If power is lost during the installation, the motherboard can become non-functional ("bricked"). Consequently, it is a task reserved for when a specific need arises—such as fixing a known error or installing new hardware—rather than a routine weekly update. Click the download button

Some manufacturers offer .exe files that update the BIOS from within Windows. We do not recommend this. Why? Because Windows could crash, an antivirus could interfere, or a background process could interrupt the flash. Use the BIOS-based tool whenever possible. Unlike a Windows update, which happens frequently and often automatically, BIOS updates are rare. You should not update your BIOS simply because an update is available. You should only packages when you have a specific reason to do so.
