The movie revolves around the story of Samar (Shah Rukh Khan), an Indian Army officer who falls in love with Aisha (Anushka Sharma), a beautiful and independent woman. However, their love is put to test when Samar's past comes back to haunt him in the form of Naina (Katrina Kaif), his ex-girlfriend who was presumed dead.
