The AMM is a technical publication approved by Boeing and required by aviation authorities (FAA, EASA, CAAC, etc.) for the continuing airworthiness of the aircraft. According to and 14 CFR Part 43 , every maintenance task performed on a Boeing 737 must be accomplished in accordance with the data contained within the AMM (or approved equivalent).
