Let’s address the elephant (or the taxidermied lion) in the room. The Hard Target 2 is not better than the 1993 original. The original had John Woo’s operatic direction, a thundering blues-rock soundtrack, and the sheer oddity of Wilford Brimley in a hunting vest with a bow and arrow.
