To fully appreciate the 2007 set, you must compare it to the competition:

(1976) – The arrival of Jaco Pastorius (on three tracks, including the iconic title cut). This album bridged the raw energy of early fusion with Jaco’s melodic, fretless revolution. “Cannon Ball” still sounds like the future.
