Priča počinje time što dečak Krsta dolazi da živi kod svog dede Riharda. Njegovi roditelji su zauzeti i nemaju dovoljno vremena za njega, pa deda postaje njegova najbliža osoba. Deda Rihard je neobičan čovek – voli prirodu, priča priče, ali je i pomalo čudan po modernim merilima. On ne koristi moderno tehnologiju, već uživa u jednostavnim stvarima.
