The stock recovery partition on the Realme 8 cannot install custom ROMs. You need TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project) specifically built for the Realme 8 (codename RMX3085 ). Note that the 5G version of this phone has different partitions; ensure you are downloading the 4G variant recovery.
