For those who need a refresher, Digimon Adventure 02 takes place three years after the original adventure. A new group of DigiDestined—Daisuke Motomiya, Miyako Inoue, and Iori Hida—joins Takeru Takaishi (TK) and Hikari Yagami (Kari).

The Dub was first broadcast on Astro, a Malaysian satellite television station, in 2002. It was a significant milestone for the franchise in Malaysia, as it marked the first time a Digimon series was dubbed into Malay. The Dub was well-received by fans, who appreciated the effort to make the series more accessible to a broader audience.

While the English dub (known for its heavy jokes, puns, and altering character motivations) took creative liberties, the Malay dub leaned closer to the Japanese source material. Character names were retained—Daisuke remained Daisuke (though affectionately called "Dai" or "Davis" in some subs, the Malay version kept it consistent). V-mon remained V-mon, not "Veemon" with a crunched accent. This kept the lore intact.
