The centerpiece of any Blu-ray review for a film of this vintage is the transfer. For The Godfather , the history of its home video presentation is rocky. Early DVD releases were non-anamorphic and faded. The "Coppola Restoration," undertaken in collaboration with the cinematographer of the first two films, Gordon Willis, changed everything.
