Buy a genuine J2534 device for professional work. But keep an Arduino in your toolbox for the oddball jobs—sniffing a sleeping CAN bus, automating a throttle body test, or building a custom dashboard. The Arduino does not replace J2534; it complements it by giving you low-level control that no certified Pass-Thru device ever will.
