PDF (Portable Document Format) remains the dominant format for document exchange, yet it is ill-suited for automated numerical extraction and time-series analysis. The TNS (Tabular Numeric Series) format—a lightweight, binary or text-based structure for storing labeled numeric matrices—is increasingly used in embedded analytics and scientific computing. This paper presents a for converting PDF to TNS files. We describe a pipeline comprising PDF parsing, table extraction, numeric validation, and TNS serialization. A reference implementation is proposed using Python with pdfplumber , pandas , and a custom TNS writer. Performance benchmarks and accuracy metrics are provided.
