You can take control of almost any nation on Earth—from the United States to a micronation like Luxembourg—and steer its destiny through deep economic, diplomatic, and military systems.
When words fail, the hex map opens up. The game transitions from a grand strategy view to a tactical wargame. You control battalions of infantry, squadrons of fighter jets, and fleets of aircraft carriers. The AI is competent, utilizing flanking maneuvers and combined arms tactics. The addition of new visual effects and smoother unit movement in the 2030 engine makes watching the battles unfold more satisfying than in previous iterations. However, the learning curve is steep.
