This paper examines the phenomenon of “Google Drive piracy” as a case study in digital media distribution. It explores the legal frameworks governing film copyright, the ethical arguments for and against accessing films via shared drives, and the cultural implications of normalizing such access. By analyzing user behavior, corporate responses, and technological affordances, this paper argues that while Google Drive offers convenience, its use for unlicensed film distribution undermines creative labor and legal streaming ecosystems.
