Software rendering looked terrible on Mac Retina displays. V2.0 ships with a custom CRT Royale shader written in Metal Shading Language (MSL). This is not a gimmick. It simulates aperture grille shadow masks, scanline bleed, and even phosphor decay. The result is pixel art that looks like it is glowing on a 1995 Sony Trinitron—without the 20ms input lag typical of software shaders.
