The production team used a combination of animatronics, stop-motion animation, and ingenious camera tricks. The puppet had multiple interchangeable faces to show different expressions—anger, cunning, and laughter. Kishori Shahane, who voiced and physically operated the puppet in many scenes, deserves immense credit. The dubbing was perfectly synced; the puppet’s lip movements were meticulously planned. Even today, watching Tatya Vinchu roll his eyes and cackle, you momentarily forget that he is made of foam and cloth. This technical prowess is a primary reason why the is studied by film students even now.
