Women’s Prison Massacre is not a good film by conventional standards. It’s poorly plotted, badly acted (dubbing issues), and tonally schizophrenic. But for fans of Italian exploitation, it’s a of a dying era – when directors would mash two genres together in post-production, use stolen soundtrack music (listen for Cannibal Holocaust cues), and still sell the film worldwide.
Unlike more serious prison dramas, Mattei’s film gleefully mixes sadistic wardens, catfights, shower scenes, and a sudden shift into a locked-room killer thriller. fylm Women-s Prison Massacre 1983 mtrjm kaml - fydyw lfth
