The story follows Aladdin, a "street rat" in the fictional city of Agrabah, who falls in love with Princess Jasmine. After being recruited by the wicked sorcerer Jafar to retrieve a magical lamp from the Cave of Wonders, Aladdin unleashes a powerful, wisecracking Genie. With the Genie's help, Aladdin disguises himself as "Prince Ali" to win the Princess's hand, while Jafar plots to overthrow the Sultan.
