SWGDRUG has compiled an infrared spectral library that is available for download from this website. The Drug Enforcement Administration's Special Testing and Research Laboratory generated the following library using structurally confirmed reference materials.

Cats view human hands as prey or toys. If you wiggle your fingers in front of a kitten’s face, you are training them to attack hands. Instead, use wand toys (feathers on a string) to keep claws away from your skin.

Approximately 40% of cats carry Bartonella henselae at some point in their lives, usually without showing any symptoms. Kittens (under 1 year old) are far more likely to transmit the bacteria than adult cats. The primary vector is actually the flea. Cats contract the bacteria from flea droppings, then carry the live bacteria in their saliva and on their claws (due to grooming). Catscratch
