The series begins with Spartacus, a skilled warrior, being forced to become a gladiator in a Ludus, a gladiatorial school, in Capua. He soon becomes a celebrated fighter and earns the admiration of his fellow gladiators. However, Spartacus's life takes a dramatic turn when he leads a rebellion against his Roman captors, along with a few other gladiators.
