Unlike Windows PCs from the early 2000s, modern Android does not work by downloading and installing individual codec files (like xvid.ax or .dll files). Android uses a media framework that relies on apps to include their own codecs.

This is usually an AC3 audio codec problem, not Xvid. Many Xvid files use AC3 (Dolby Digital) audio. Install VLC or the MX Player custom codec to fix this.
