Binary to BCD conversion is the process of converting a binary number into its equivalent BCD representation. This conversion is necessary because binary numbers are not easily readable by humans, whereas BCD numbers are more intuitive and resemble decimal numbers.
Single-cycle result. Cons: Area grows with input width. Not recommended for >12‑bit inputs.
For 8‑bit binary (255), you need 12 BCD bits. Using only 8 bits will overflow and give wrong results.
